The working principle and precautions of ball grinding mill

Author: HXJQTime: 12/28/2012 6:32:10 PM

The ball grinding mill is a grinding machine, while having a mixing action. It is widely used in cement, silicate products, new building materials, refractory materials, fertilizer, black and non-ferrous mineral processing and glass ceramics and other industries.

The mill body is cylindrical, and installed with spherical grinding media and material inside; centrifugal force and friction generated by body rotation bring the material and the abrasive body to a certain height and drop them so that the materials are ground into a fine powder by mutual impact and friction.

The operation methods can be divided into dry and wet two ways; the wet operation is normally configured with grader, and the dry operation is configured with ventilation and separation equipment. The mill is used for grinding various ores and other materials, widely used in mineral processing, building materials and chemical industries. According to the different ways of discharging, it can be divided into lattice type and overflow type.

The diameter of abrasive products depends on several physical factors:

1. The collision frequency of grinding balls; it is related to their quantity, volume and grinding barrel speed.

2. Length of grinding time; the more the number of grinding, the smaller of the diameter.

3. The physical, chemical properties of abrasive materials, such as: ductility, brittleness, mechanical stability.

4. The geometry and materials of mill barrel; it is also a factor that impact frequency.

Precautions

1. The mill cannot grind the chemicals of low mechanical strength, and we should confirm whether there is sufficient stability for medium and material in wet milling operation.

2. Oxidant cannot be ground with the reducing agent, such as: potassium chlorate and red phosphorus.
