Introduction to Rod Mill

Rod mill also can be called rod grinder,pin crusher or grinding rod mill,have two types dry type rod mill and wet type rod mill. Customers could purchase any of them according to their needs. Fote Machinery uses the advanced technology of controlled feeding and discharging, equip with suitable grinding body according to the actual grinding material, and change the traditional surface contact into line contact so that the discharging size is more even and the yield is higher. Grinding rod mill is widely used in industries which have a high requirement on the uniformity of the finished materials, such as refractory, chemical industry, metallurgy, glass and other industries. Rod mill is also used in sand making industries in recent years.

Characteristics of Rod Grinder

1. Grinding media can contact with the ore in a line way in the grinding process. Therefore, rod mill can grind materials selectively;
2. The particle size is relatively uniform and there are few over crushed particles.

Working Principle of Rod Mill

The rod mill drives the cylinder in rotation by the engine through the rotation of the reducer and big gears around in deceleration or through low speed synchronous motor driving directly peripheral big gears. The machine is equipped with appropriate grinding medium-steel bar, which is raised to a certain height under the centrifugal force and friction force and then cast down or discharged. The materials to be crushed are continuously added to the cylinder, shattered by the rotating grinding medium and discharged for the next procedure by the overflow and the power produced by continuously feeding in materials.
