The sand maker, also known as sand making machine, artificial sand maker or vsi sand maker, is applied to crush and reform soft, medium hard and extra-hard materials, is widely used to process materials like minerals, cement, refractory matter, bauxite clinker, emery, glass raw materials, machine-made building stone materials and gold slag, and the sand maker has much higher production and efficiency than other crushers when processing carborundum, emery, firing bauxite clinker and magnesia extra-hard, ultra-hard and abradability resistance materials.

It consists of feeding hopper, distributor, crushing chamber, impeller, spindle assembly, base plate, transmission part and motor.
VSI sand maker provides high quality sand aggregate for expressway, high speed railway, high-rise building, municipal works, and the construction of hydroelectric dams. It is the first choice for artificial sand making and the stone reshaping.
The stone materials are crushed preliminary in the jaw crusher. Secondly, the crushed rough stone materials are transported into the impact crusher for further crushing by the belt conveyor. Thirdly, the stone materials are separated into two parts by the vibrating screen. The part whose size is suitable for the sand making machine will be transported into the sand making machine and the other part will be transported into the impact crusher. Some of the former part of the stones which are crushed in the sand making machine will turn into required sand and be washed by the sand washing machine (selective), and the rest stone materials will be transported into the impact crusher to be crushed once more.
Artificial sand washer production line has features of high automation, low operating costs, high crushing ratio, low energy consumption, large output, easy maintenance, uniform granularity and good shape of the products, reasonable gradation and the produced sand conforms to the national standard of construction sand.

After entering the VSI sand maker, materials are divided into two parts by the distributor. Some enter the high speed spinning impeller through the middle part of the distributor, get speeded up with the accelerated speed of hundred times of gravitational acceleration and thrown out of the three runners evenly spread in the impeller at the speed of 60-70m/s. Then some materials falling around the distributor are crushed and impact into the vortex motion cavity, get rebounded by the material lining, get impact inclined up to the top of the vortex motion cavity, then change the direction of motion and finally form the continuous material curtain with materials launched from the impeller runner. Therefore, materials will suffer two or more times of impact, grinding and crushing in the vortex motion crushing cavity. The crushed materials are discharged from the discharge gate in the bottom.
